The Toledo Cherokee will be traveling to Dayton, Ohio on
December 13
to play in the Regional "Silver Sticks Tournament" organized by the International Silver Sticks Inc. and is a USA & Canadian non-profit charitable Youth Hockey Association. Teams from all across the USA and Canada play in one regional event to qualify for play and the champions are invited to play in the Internation Silver Stick Finals Tournament.
Dayton is located in the Miami Valley region of southwestern Ohio just north of the greater Cincinnati metropolitan area. The Dayton Bombers of the ECHL hockey league call Dayton home. Dayton is best known for aviation and the great aviation pioneers the Wright Brothers and is often referred to as the "birthplace" of aviaition. Also, a forgotten fact, Dayton was the city in which the signing of the famous Dayton Peace Accords in 1995, then President Bill Clinton, which brought an official end to the war in Bosnia-Herzegovina. This peace agreement was reached and signed at the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base near Dayton. There are many more facts and places to visit in Dayton; a city rich in history just waiting to be explored!
